Should I Get a Hybrid?

Oh what is this world coming to..

High gas prices (low compared to Europes $6/gallon) - and the Hurricane Katrina in Orleans.. People are getting killed/raped/shot.. looting.. police quitting..

Not too sure how the economy is going to react to all of this. I think the time of the end is got to be near.. i actually even thought about a Civic Hybrid for a few seconds.. or an Accord hybrid althought it's $30,000 too far from my budget.

Regular Civic EX does 40 miles HW 30 miles ST.. not bad..

On a sad note - my car has 72,000 miles on it. I realized that i didn't change the brake pads.. and so now i have to change the rotors with it. Not a huge factor since the rotors are only $50 for a pair.. but geez lois.. the rear and front pads were $110.

Maybe i shoulda just gone to Midas.. but i don't trust those monkey shops at all.. i know how to do many things with the car.. and doing the brakes will just be a new experience - so i can do it later too.. Bob said he would help - so i'm not too worried. I think an idiot could change the brakes.

Midas told me it was $100 for pads and install in the front
Turning the rotors was $20 each - or wait for a special order on them
Rear was also special order and would be $90 for pads and install.

That means i would have cost $240.. so i probably saved $70. Hmm.. bleh. I bet they woulda told me i needed so many other things to repair. Not even sure what kind of pads they would have used.. bleh bleh.. dunno what i should have done. Hope i'm making the right decisions here.

Today i had the most blistering headache! Not sure why.. but it hurt. Couldn't get any work done.. i think i'm stressing about making decisions.. i have things to decide on - and i'm always stressing to make the correct ones. So frustrating.
