I was watching the Mentalist, and in one of the episodes they were discussing the best Chili in California. That got me the cravings and i ended up searching on Yelp. I didn't want just Chili.. i wanted Chili Cheese Fries. I remember wen Carl's Jr. had them for a while back in early 2000.. they stopped making them though.
Anyways, the search ended when i came across the holy grail of all chili cheese fries.. the D.U.I. Not sure what the history behind the name is, but it's chili cheese fries with carne asada and pastrami. The large portion feeds 2 people and it costs $10.
How was it? It was pretty good. The carne asada was the best part of it. It could have been better w/o the Pastrami. Honestly, i probably won't crave it enough to go back. It was probably hyped up too much by writers on Yelp. From the looks of it, it probably tastes really good after a night of drinking (just like those bacon wrapped hot dogs outside of clubs in Hollywood).
To be fair, i did have a slight tummy ache so i didn't have much of an appetite. If I ever do go back, i will be ordering the smaller size and w/o the pastrami.
Overall Rating: 7/10
